ABOUT.
Who / What is the IAGSA Inc.
The IAGSA is a union which is run by members for the betterment of its members. All members of the union including the National Executive are employees of IAG. The IAGSA exists solely for its members in New Zealand, across all brands within the company and because of this exclusivity we believe that we offer members something that is unique - a solid focus on members concerns or issues and a sound knowledge of the business that they are employed in.
The National Executive.
The National Executive is the governing body of the IAGSA and is made up of IAGSA Representatives from the Regions.
The National Executive meets regularly to discuss employment issues, any consultation processes that are affecting members, and the general running of the union.
A sub-committee drawn from the National Executive, and including the Executive Manager, meets with IAG on a regular basis to discuss any issues that require attention and are involved in discussions at a high level. They also meet with the IAG every two years to bargain the terms of our Collective Agreement.
Executive Manager.
The National Executive employ an Executive Manager who is responsible for the day to day running of the union, ensuring that the union is compliant, to provide support and assistance to IAGSA Representatives and members alike, and maintain the communication network with members transforming the information into positive action for the benefit of members.
Kay McIntyre is an ex-employee of NZI/IAG, having worked for the company for 19 years in various roles across the business, and has been involved with the IAGSA at all levels since inception in 1991, before taking on the role of Executive Manager in 2003.
An important part of The Executive Manager’s role is to continue to foster the union's relationship with IAG and ensure ongoing consultation between the IAGSA and IAG on all issues that could affect members is maintained.
Representatives.
Communication is the life blood of the IAGSA, and it is a prime objective to provide a network that encourages the free flow of information, ideas and concerns on all matters affecting our members.
The IAGSA has Representatives or Liaison Officers in most areas of IAG and these Representatives can be your initial contact. There is always a Representative close at hand and able to assist.
There is no need to fuss, setting up formal appointments or calling in outsiders - your local representative is right on the spot, ready and willing to assist, advise or simply listen to your ideas, issues, and concerns.
